If anybody is seriously interested, let me know and I'll see what venue I

I guess anywhere away from home is always interesting :)

It sounds like there is genuine interest. I guess the next question is the
time frame. Traditionally (if we've been doing it long enough to have a
tradition) we've used long weekends, as that lets people coming by car from
further afield travel on Saturday, meet on Sunday, travel home on Monday.
Unfortunately there's a bit of a shortage of long weekends between now and
Christmas.

Nope, there's not.

How important is it to people to use a long weekend? If so, then the
Australia Day weekend next January (assuming it is gazetted as a long
weekend -- the 26th is a Sunday this year) will be the first opportunity.

As it happens, The Australia day weekend is when a major games convention is
held in Canberra. Hundreds of players (mainly miniatures-
ancients/warhammer/napoleonics etc - with a massive 24hr LAN shootem up-and
usually some role-players though the organisers seem to make a habit of
upsetting many of them so the turnup varies).

Tons of space, and free to those running display/participation games. I
think there is free camping on the site for those who want to rough it.

Brickwars should fit right in, with some space for displays/building/recruiting.

Declare your intentions early enough and you get a mention in the
brochure/entry form.

Or find a local hall and do it on the quiet.

I would have thought making the LUGOZ 200? thing a yearly gathering, a better idea and something to look forward too... I'm sure not all of us could afford (...)
