Someone (non-lego) at work was telling me they saw a bit in the Orlando Sentinal newspaper about a (possible) Legoland being planned in Florida? He couldn't rember which day he saw it. Does anyone know anything? (24 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.legoland)

(...) I would love Miami or Ft. Lauderdale (since I live here), but, I think Orlando or West Palm Beach (were Playmobil has a park) will win out. I can get to Orlando in less 3 hours between 9PM and 6AM on the Florida Turnpike averaging 70MPH, so (...) (24 years ago, 19-May-00, to lugnet.legoland)

(...) Tampa would be sweet (since I live here). It's not as congested as Orlando, and I think the cost of land and whatnot is a bit cheaper. One could only dream for such a thing (*sigh*). But, Orlando is only an hour away. Surely, if I can drive (...) (24 years ago, 19-May-00, to lugnet.legoland)

(...) Why wouldn't they? With new attractions opening all the time (most recently Men in Black Alien Attack) and new multi-million dollar rides being announced so often ($150M+ SPACE pavilion at Epcot), they can't just stay at those prices. Even I (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.legoland)

(...) Lego's target audience is younger (3 to 12 years old) than the existing parks (9 to 25 years olds), according to the newspaper article. Also, if competition was too much the theme parks here wouldn't have recently raised their admission (...) (24 years ago, 16-May-00, to lugnet.legoland)

The May 11th issue of The Orlando Sentinal had an article stating: "Lego Co., the Danish construction toy maker, is about to initiate talks with officials in Orlando and in the greater Washington, D.C. area about plans to develop another LEGOLAND (...) Hi all, I recieved the latest German Club Magazine a few days ago. In there TLC announced the official new name of the fourth LEGO park in Germany/Bavaria. The official name will be: "LEGOLAND Deutschland"! At least this is what they announced (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.legoland) !

Hi all ... I just turned 65 a week ago and have been doing LEGOs for about twenty years ... a whole lot better than the Lincoln Logs that I had as a kid!
