Re: Contest goals? (was Re: Fansploitation

(...) I'm glad there are people like Larry who are less bummed out. I don't want anyone to be as bummed out as I am. But I'll try to clarify my prev post. I know my views are often critical -- I'm like that. Usually I bite my tongue in this news (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: New plastic "rubber" tire substitutions

(...) So what looks like black 30.4x14 hubs with rubber tires on the picture is really a one piece molded plastic part with a hollow backside? This is really bad in my opinion. And to think that I was looking forward to the black hubs in this set. (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.technic)

(...) Agreed. Simple packaging sends a "this is serious stuff" message and keeps costs down too... look at how low run Model Railroad kits are packaged. ++Lar (26 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Contest goals? (was Re: Fansploitation

Re: New plastic "rubber" tire substitutions

(...) Yes, these are hollow 1 piece ABS wheels (32146). They first appeared last year in the 3057 Create 'n' Race set. I suspect the reason that they are in the 8241 set is cost. After all it would be hared to expect 8 real tires in a set that only (...) (26 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.technic)

Re: New plastic "rubber" tire substitutions

(...) ... (...) Thanks for the heads up; I was actually going to purchase this set specifically for the black wheels (without the tires); since they aren't seperated from the tires they're of little use to me. D'oh. I may still need black wheels (...) (26 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.technic)

  Lego SAH ....c'mon already

Having placed a substantial shop at home order earlier today, I remembered references to a $39 price on the Droid Development Kit, so I asked what the current price was for that item. I was quoted the $59 price so I passed. Lo and behold, I received (...) (26 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Fansploitation

I do not think most of us want to make any money off our creations, but should we have to give up all rights to our work? Do other contests that judge artistic creations require that the artist relinquish all rights to the creation? (Really, I (...) (26 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)
