Hello,

I purchased a large order from several people of Harry Potter Light Gray stairs.

Upon building I noticed that some of the stairs overhang the others. I then
observed that some had different grooves than the others and only worked
when placing them at opposite ends or 180 degrees. I first thought there might
be some special purpose to this, but upon calculating the pieces I bought and
how many special pieces, I found the math doesn't add up!

So 26% of my stairs were these different grooves, yet the number would be
off per stair set to say, yes, 6 stairs per 16, but this is not the case.

I have a feeling that these are defective and that I am not the only one
having this problem. Can someone out there help me with this issue?

Because I seriously believe there may be a wide spread of defective parts on
the harry potter stairs.

Anyone else notice this?

Doyle

Well, I spoke with S@H and they want to me send them ALL of the questionable
pieces for replacement and evaluation. No else has complained yet, but when
you think of it, How many people would notice with only 1 set. Especially a
kid who was told by his parents that he built it wrong and go try again.

I think this might be a wide spread problem and I would check your stairs
and see if there are any gaps in the stairs when spiral, if so remove the
pieces and look at them, you'll see how they are different.

Hope you guy’s check, because I am going to be MORE careful now buying these
stairs.

I just went and checked both staircases I have, and each step has identical
grooves.

thanks,

James

(...) An easy way to check is to spiral them and see if there are gaps, if there are then you see the steps in question. Doyle (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)
