  Re: Castle returns for 2000!

(...) Sometimes, these fellows also ended up dead--Raleigh, Devereux/Essex, and the like. It seems that the less comprehensible England became to Elizabeth, the greater her rage against her "favourites". (I've actually set eyes on a number of the (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Sesame Street King Ernie (was: Re: Castle returns for 2000!)

(...) For some reason this reminds me of an old Sesame Street skit where Ernie was a caveman king (or maybe he was a medieval king, I forget). Anyway, they were doing something and they got stuck/confused and didn't know how to continue. Ernie (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Sesame Street King Ernie (was: Re: Castle returns for 2000!)

(...) Yah -- they were cavemen, and they couldn't figure out how to leave the cave. The large wooden door leading out is large and quite conspicuous right behind them... As I recall, it wasn't very flattering towards royalty. :-, Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Sesame Street King Ernie (was: Re: Castle returns for 2000!)

(...) Yup me too.... Ah, the good old days of Sesame Street, with skits they can't show anymore... Does anyone else remember the pineapples? He's with the pineapples, he's happy. :) James (URL) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Sesame Street King Ernie (was: Re: Castle returns for 2000!)

(...) Arg. You can't be serious. Really?!? Arg. Those old skits were the best. Oh, well. I figured the show (and anything Muppet) would go all to hell after Jim Henson died. Frank Oz is a good director, and makes a nearly sexy piggie, but he really (...) (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Sesame Street King Ernie (was: Re: Castle returns for 2000!)

(...) What are you, the Royal Smart Person? ;-) Who was in that one---? I remember Ernie, but not Bert. And I think there were one or two anonymous Muppets. Were Guy Smiley or Hemlock Shemlock part of that skit as well? Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 4-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

My god, I loved those monsters too... My favorite part of that skit was when something that they didn't expect would happen, ( like the phone ringing) they would pull their lower lip up over their head. That image still makes me smile.
