Apparently the toys had to be an American invention. With the apparent
exception of the yo-yo. And that's probably only because they stuffed up
their research and thought that it was an American invention, too.... How
this crtierion could be an educational one is beyond me. What are they
trying to teach people? That the rest of the world doesn't make good toys?

| (...) I agree, how Ameri-centric of them. I saw the show, and thought for sure that LEGO would be #1. Play-doo beat out LEGO, get real. Lincoln Logs beat out LEGO? Yeah, when was the last time Lincoln Logs could build any thing except a Log Cabin? (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)
