Well, it sounds reasonable, but I doubt it's the truth! Concerning the
'wiredness', I think Finland and Sweden are among the top 10 in the world.
It's more a case of shopping culture, I think (and 'time culture'?). We are
not in such a big hurry, we can go to the store and have a chat with someone
there (and pay with _real_ money).
The Swedes are _very_ concerned about security in (net) transactions, and that
has held the electronic commerce back here for a long time now. Remember, we
are still slowly converting to using credit cards, instead of real money.
As for the Internet connections, yes, we have to pay for local phone calls,
but that will probably disappear sooner or later. More and more people get
their net connection 'free' via the cable TV connection and so on, so the
phone companies have to give in some time. I think I've read somewhere that
more than 50% of the Swedish population has access to the net.
