I just read an article in Marketing, a London-based magazine, that
discussed Lego vs. K-nex.  Some interesting facts were that Lego has a
60% share of the construction toy market in the UK whereas K-nex has
21%.  The article mentioned ZNAP, but a spokesperson from Lego said that
it was different from K-nex because it was made from different material
and really didn't look like K-nex.  K-nex is getting ready to introduce
"Solar K-nex," which it thinks will increase its market share compared
with Lego.  The article mentioned the "emotional benefits" of playing
with K-nex, which I hope was a misprint that was supposed to read
"educational."  After all, it's us Lego-types who get emotional over our
toys :)

Oh, I dunno...  I can get pretty emotional when building (actually,
when dismantling) K'Nex structures.  They cause pain in the hands a
LOT quicker than disassembling LEGO can (though, taking apart a
well-constructed TECHNIC construction does rate closely).  Such pain
DOES tend to make one emotional, as in "urgh!  I'm really not LIKING
this stuff very much right now!"  :-)
