Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed. —Robert Munafo
(...) I don't understand why people are so confused about this. First of all, the (legitimate) bulk ordering market already exists, but it's small and limited to the most commonly needed pieces (simple bricks). You can get 2x4 bricks for about (US) (...)         Re: No Ritvik for me thanks —John Kelly
Why we don't use non-LEGO product? One of the reasons is that it's lousy product. It does not wear as well or hold up to the same rigors that the LEGO product does. I've watched models made of knock off brands fall apart in direct sunlight because (...) (25 years ago, 5-Aug-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

(...) Whhoops, that was accidental. I normally write "blyetch" or "bletch." Some other good ones are "blyeah" and "eyegch" and "eyegggch." :) --Todd (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Ritvik quality or lack of such (was Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed. —Robert Munafo
(...) Okay, here we go... Do Ritvik bricks really fall apart in the sun (that's an exxageration :-) How suitable are they for a project like, for example, building a 5-foot-high replica of the US Capitol Building?          Re: Ritvik quality or lack of such (was Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed. —Eric Joslin
(...) No. There's also no reason you can't build it out of Tente, wooden blocks, uncooked (or cooked!) macaroni, or dryer lint. But none of those things are Lego, and neither is Ritvik, even if Ritvik is more easily compatable with Lego. Some people (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed. —Larry Pieniazek
I'd use Ritvik in underpinnings if it was strong enough(1). GMLTC modules are on carriers, but ultimately are held together by the adhesive force of the studs in them. Any minor variations in that mean you have stress fracture fault line potentials. (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
