  Re: Nothing to say?

I'll offer some comments about what I can. (...) Understandable. I've discussed this elsewhere. (...) I just don't understand this. Most of the in-fighting goes on away from the models. (...) I've never noticed this to be a problem and the few times (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Reason's that I don't post about MOCs at lugnet: 1. Too many MOC's, not enough time. 2. I hang out more at genre specific sites (fbtb, c-s) 3. MocPages lets me see pictures, author notes and make a comment from one page. 4. Other sites have more (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) But the highlight/spotlight isn't visible at all when using a news reader (but maybe I'm alone doing that?). (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) It makes it difficult for anyone. This is precisely why I don't tend to post on some of the more specialized forums. I'll be the first to admit that my photography skills needs help, and that the lighting where I generally take photos isn't (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

--snip-- (...) I still don't think it should be this way. It's not so hard to focus on what is good in an otherwise mediocre model. I've also noticed that MOCs have to also be photographed well these days to get much response... that makes it even (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Hello! (...) You are probably referring to Mocpages. And what happens there is, I guess, this: People come along a MOC, see it's (for example) Castle stuff, are Mecha kids themselves, think "blah, Castle, boring" and rate it 1/6. On Lugnet there (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) I think you hit it- our standards are so high that a MOC has to REALLY have some element(s) about it to get a response. I don't post much in terms of written feedback but I do use the highlight/spotlight function often. I figure it's giving (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

(...) No need for Atticus .........yet. Though we seem to have enough Boo Radleys about :^) -pete.w (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) Then there should be a feature for an uploaded MOC to be rated 1 - 10 or something in a poll. Something really quick and easy-- look at the ESPN poll on the front page. It should work that simple and fast. If I have to log in and go through (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) I typically post only when the urge comes upon me. I've gotten around this whole issue by posting my pictures to a site that counts the number of hits. If people like what they see, I'll see the hits. That's enough for me. -Duane (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Thanks for bringing this up. I have been posting about some MOCs I built this this year and getting occasional responses but sometimes none at all, and I figured either people just didn't think they were that amazing or something. IMO my best recent (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) --snip-- (...) Hi Jojo, I think you should. What is easy to forget for those who've been around for a while is that the entry-level is now so much lower than the best. The top quality of MOCs has increased so fast that it is almost impossible (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Hello! So I have read all the replies in this thread and decided I'd spotlight that post. (And did so.) That made me think: >Hm, every once in a while I see posts with MOCs and no answers but with like five spotlights. It's nice people like that (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

In lugnet.general, Timothy Gould wrote: SNIP (...) Rant or otherwise, you are correct, Tim. Too many members/viewers/lurkers do not post any comments here on new MOC announcements. A part of that may be the LUGNET interface, but perhaps more so is a (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)
