  Re: Nothing to say?

--snip-- (...) I still don't think it should be this way. It's not so hard to focus on what is good in an otherwise mediocre model. I've also noticed that MOCs have to also be photographed well these days to get much response... that makes it even (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Hello! (...) You are probably referring to Mocpages. And what happens there is, I guess, this: People come along a MOC, see it's (for example) Castle stuff, are Mecha kids themselves, think "blah, Castle, boring" and rate it 1/6. On Lugnet there (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) I think you hit it- our standards are so high that a MOC has to REALLY have some element(s) about it to get a response. I don't post much in terms of written feedback but I do use the highlight/spotlight function often. I figure it's giving (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

(...) No need for Atticus .........yet. Though we seem to have enough Boo Radleys about :^) -pete.w (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) Then there should be a feature for an uploaded MOC to be rated 1 - 10 or something in a poll. Something really quick and easy-- look at the ESPN poll on the front page. It should work that simple and fast. If I have to log in and go through (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) I typically post only when the urge comes upon me. I've gotten around this whole issue by posting my pictures to a site that counts the number of hits. If people like what they see, I'll see the hits. That's enough for me. -Duane (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Thanks for bringing this up. I have been posting about some MOCs I built this this year and getting occasional responses but sometimes none at all, and I figured either people just didn't think they were that amazing or something. IMO my best recent (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) --snip-- (...) Hi Jojo, I think you should. What is easy to forget for those who've been around for a while is that the entry-level is now so much lower than the best. The top quality of MOCs has increased so fast that it is almost impossible (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Hello! So I have read all the replies in this thread and decided I'd spotlight that post. (And did so.) That made me think: >Hm, every once in a while I see posts with MOCs and no answers but with like five spotlights. It's nice people like that (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nothing to say?

In lugnet.general, Timothy Gould wrote: SNIP (...) Rant or otherwise, you are correct, Tim. Too many members/viewers/lurkers do not post any comments here on new MOC announcements. A part of that may be the LUGNET interface, but perhaps more so is a (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Lugnet is a raggedy dog, dying in the street. That said, I really like dogs, and I'm willing to help get it to a vet. Count me in. -Keith (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Hi Tim, I totally agree. Your post made me sign in spotlight and answer. This happens very few since my beloved .Mecha is kind of desserted these days. I promise to at least give highlight or spotlight more often now. And as Richie mentioned we all (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) That's pretty much how I do it here. Are you not a LUGNET member? If you're not, I'd highly recommend it. Cheers Richie Dulin (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) Have you tried posting via the web interface? It's much easier and quicker, too. Try it out. JOHN (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

I agree that feedback is much appreciated and important to the development of some builders skills. However, I usually can't be bothered with the posting rigamarole that lugnet puts me through to post anything. It takes me three clicks just to get (...)   Re: Nothing to say?

(...) Wise words, Tim. Even if it's a simply "nice MOC" or "me too" post, it can certainly be encouraging. I recall that Legomaster Eric Sophie (URL) an effort> to post about MOCs so that posters make a point to reply so that they feel good and not (...)   Re: Nothing to say?

(...) Yeah, you're right, Tim. I have been particularily guilty WRT providing feedback as of late (this whole year in fact), all the while lamenting in private the decline of posting overall on LUGNET. I have seen the enemy, and it is me:-) I call (...) (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

(...) Well if someone can't accept a little tactful criticism then you learn from the first time and ignore them henceforth. Comments involve two parties behaving well. Tim (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Nothing to say?

Hmmm. Good idea, I guess. Of course, if you read some of the LUGNET groups, only people who post MOCs are qualified to comment on others' MOCs, especially if you have some constructive criticism to offer (see the next comment). And one really (...) (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Nothing to say?

(URL) This recent post> brought me back to something that's been bugging me for quite a while here. People rarely comment on MOCs here lately (with some exceptions like trains).
