I just have to say I am impressed...

While at Brickfest, I was able to purchase for myself one of the Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer sets (at a 25% discount, yay!), and while I am several years behind in jumping on this particular bandwagon... I am very impressed. LEGO really outdid (...) (19 years ago, 22-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: When will the Vikings raid the US?

(...) That might be fun. I'm not sure I'll be doing any serious "asides" before I finish the Bible (circa 2013), but when I think about what non-Biblical material would be most fun to illustrate in LEGO, I do tend to think along the lines of "famous (...) (...) Woah, that's awesome: a Torah scroll! Or any other ancient manuscript! That will come in mighty handy. Looks like I won't have to use (URL) this tile> quite so much anymore. Thanks for the tip! -Brendan (19 years ago, 22-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: When will the Vikings raid the US?

(...) Hey Brendan, in an aside on your Biblical scenes, you should do one of the Vikings landing at England's Lindisfarne Island and pillaging the monastery in AD 883 (it shocked all of Christendom). You could show the surviving monks carrying off (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Life size guns and assault rifles on Brickshellf-- opinions?

Hey all, I’ve noticed lately that there has been a serge in the amount of MOC's built on the theme of guns and assault rifles. Now I really don't want to cause a fuss considering there are weapons throughout the Lego line but for some reason life (...)   They look pretty cool!

Thanks for the link, Bruce! I'm not crazy about the speckled plastic used for the boulders and armor, but the set designs look excellent! It bugs me to see so much Bionicle (in the dragons), and I understand it's all part of the same system, but I'd (...) (19 years ago, 20-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: When will the Vikings raid the US?

Thanks to everyone for the info on the Viking sets. Looks like I won't be able to put them on my wishlist for my birthday in early September, but I am certainly glad to hear that these sets *will* be available in the US. Because, you know, they're (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Have '87 Catalog with many alternate/different set names

(...) Dave, Your best bet is to get a scan included in the PICSL that is hosted on Peeron. I think the catalogs are still offline, but hopefully they'll be back in action real soon. dave (19 years ago, 20-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: When will the Vikings raid the US?

(...) Brendan, As others have mentioned, the Vikings will be a TRU exclusive in October. Someone from Lego (I'm pretty sure it was Jake) said, during his presentation, that the Vikings would be available from S@H "by the end of the year". So I guess (...)
