While at Brickfest, I was able to purchase for myself one of the Star Wars
Imperial Star Destroyer sets (at a 25% discount, yay!), and while I am several
years behind in jumping on this particular bandwagon...
I am very impressed. LEGO really outdid themselves on the ISD. What an awesome
build and an awesome model. I have never bought a more challenging set than
this. If I had any doubts about LEGO's ability to create quality sets, this put
them to rest.
As I said, I know I am many years too late in saying it, but it has been only
recently that I could actually afford to buy the ISD. Yes, it has a prohibitive
price, but I can honestly say I have no regrets in my purchase. And hey, it's
old grey!
I do have to report, though, I did have one new dark grey piece mixed in to all
the old, but I'm not complaining (much :) ).
I could go on and on at how impressed I am with the set, and how much I am
appreciative of LEGO for taking that risk in creating it, or how it reaffirms my
faith that LEGO will thrive for years to come with set designs like this, but
this post would never end.
I won't even use the cliche' line I was tempted to use and say that "This ship
is now the ultimate building set in the universe"
Oops...

| C'mon, now do the song ehh? ehh? Da da da da dun da da dun da da, (and so on in increasing intensity, hold it, hold it, add passing turbo lase sounds, yes yes the occasional Tie-Fighter,....) "I want those plans...." Congrats on your purchase and (...) (19 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)
