OK, I filled it out. Comments:
1) Geez. Kind of a pain in the neck. Like 70 questions, many with a
dozen or more sub questions. Its like doing your taxes.
2) Seemed to be authored by a European. Several reasons: one, the
number of questions as I mentioned above. What American would assume
their customers have time to answer that many? Two, use of the
word whilst throughout the survey. Three, calling Walmart
a supermarket.. hmmm... not how I would have termed it.
3) And although termed an adult enthusiast survey, it did not seem
to have questions tailored specifically to us. Maybe a couple. It more seemed
like a standard survey but they wanted to be able to separate our
results from others folks.
So the survey itself was disappointing. But I hope it helps
Brickfest. And I hope it encourages those involved with Brickfest to
PICK A DATE ALREADY (ahem). Some of us have to start planning these
things.

The LEGO company would like to understand their consumers better and they
need YOUR help!
LEGOFan has been working very closely with the LEGO company recently to help
develop and promote an online survey that helps them better understand their
customers. The LEGO Ambassadors also gave feedback and suggestions for the
survey and now wed like to invite everyone to take it.
The survey only takes a few minutes, is easy to use and will help LEGO
understand our buying patterns better.
Best of all - we have negotiated a deal where if at least 150 AFOLs
participate in the survey before the end of next week (April 22nd), then LEGO
will donate $2,000 to the BrickFest event.
This is a great boon for the community - LEGO gets to understand our needs
better and if enough people take part, then BrickFest will benefit directly
with a cash donation.
Even if you are not planning on attending Brickfest, please help out by
taking the survey.
The BrickFest event benefits the entire community by helping to launch new
ideas, getting external attention and growth for the community, and
providinga wonderful venue for fans all over the world to come together. Many
of the great things were now experiencing in the community can be traced
back to ideas suggested at BrickFest.
Lets try and send a message to the CEO that AFOLs are a) willing to help,
and b) partners in this thing called LEGO, not simply consumers!
Take the survey now.

| (...) Yeah, which is a big reason that the LEGO Fan team and I were able to wrangle a tangible reward out of the process. We knew that the survey was long and the requirements for head count were steep. In the "Everybody goes home happy" mindset, we (...) (20 years ago, 15-Apr-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)
