    New x-pod sets —Huw Millington
The new Argos [1] catalogue came out today in the UK, and in it are the new x-pod Designer sets, which they had in stock, seemingly several months before their general release. The four sets can be seen here: (URL) are interesting because they each (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space) !!

(...) Very interesting indeed! (...) I've often wondered why the 'studs on all sides' was the only configuration of this style of brick. (...) Absolutely. So if these sets have been available for so long (as noted below) at retail, I wonder why (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New element (Was: Re: New x-pod sets) —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Hey Allan, My understanding is that the 1x1 brick with stud on only one side is not produced by TLC because the patent (!) is still owned by Ritvik and used in MegaBloks. That's why they could only do the 1x4 like that, at least until the part (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) You must have read my mind. It was, in fact, a 1x1 with a stud on one side that I was really thinking of. I will love to have and will use the piece Huw noted above, but it would also be nice to have one that didn't need any clearance on the (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) Eh, just back it up to a 1x1 or 1x2 technic brick with the peghole in the right place, and it's all good. But I agree that it would have been nicer to see a the megablok part rendered in "the good stuff" instead. (...) I do agree--still have (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New x-pod sets —James Stacey
I may possibly have been passed Argos today and may possibly have accidently brought the sets. They Rock !! A lot of thought obviously has gone into the part selection, the muli functions of the pods are great. Each one has multiple model (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: New x-pod sets —Jason J. Railton
(...) I just got these, and they're very neat. I like the idea of using the pod parts in the model ideas. It adds to the value of what you're buying, when the pod itself is useful.
