Calm down, please. Nobody is trying to cast England as a bully. The War of
1812 ended 200 years ago, and there's nobody alive today who harbors any
resentment or ill feelings about it. For that matter, there really wasn't a
whole lot of animosity among the general populace back then, either. The
comment was made in historical reference and was clearly not intended to be
offensive to anyone or any group of people.
