There are more than 5000 Chinese characters in use today, so you will not find
a big list of character pictures since it is just too many. However you can
have some fun with this site: http://www.mandarintools.com/chardict.html
It is not very reliable, and only return results that can be represented by a
single character. But it can be quite interesting. Put "surname" in the
English search will give you a long list of surnames that is/was used by
Chinese.
http://www.mandarintools.com/worddict.html will works for words that need
multiple characters, but you need to install a Chinese font into your browser.
