Hi all!

This is an official announcement to the Lugnet community that my pet project
and long time labor of love is officially online and on its way!

Subterfugitives is a cinematic sequential art novel that is divided into 7
main parts (called discs) for reasons that will become clear as the story
evolves.  Each Disc begins with a short parable that metaphorically explains
backstory and mythos of the Subterfugitive universe.  The first parable is
now ready to be viewed, with the first chapter coming very soon!

to see the webpage from the top, go here:

to see just this installment, the first of the 7 Epoch Parables, go here:

Warning, the Subterfugitive page is not intended for slow modems!

I know that Tripod popups can be annyoing to some, but unless you are
prepared to offer a better place to put Subterfugitives, don't mention it (I
don't like them either, but I am flat broke right now and cannot afford
webhosting).

also, I want to credit Kevin Maynes for the "image click" format.  'The
Wanderer' was the first time I saw that used in sequential art, but I liked
it too much not to use it here.

I am very interested in any comments!  If you like it, please spread the
word, I really want people to enjoy this story I have spent years working on!

Also, the Epoch Parables are not sci-fi at all, but the whole
Subterfugitives storyline will take place in space, on ships, in the future,
so I included .space as a posting group due to the 'impending relevancy'.

supacheers!

Wow. I've been waiting to hear more about your stories since we had that long chat about art and lego. I'm just diving into this now. I'm on a dial up instead of the T1 I was on all summer ( I was spoiled). Barf. I'll tell you what I think when I'm (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

Joel. This is amazing. I really wish I could talk to you face to face and tell you what I think. Typing is so clumsy and simple sometimes. I don't know whether I'm more fascinated right now with the story or with the idea of conveying complex (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) You know the meaning of the Chinese characters in your logo, right? I guess it is not intended for kids as well. (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

Congratulations! I know how much work and how many sleepless nights this project as taken and will take before it’s completion. It has all been worth it! The execution is wonderful and the story intriguing, truly only a glimpse of your creativity (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)

(...) I was reading through the first parable when it just "stopped". It jumped right back to the opening screen leaving the story hanging at "the spider accepted the challenge". Is a link busted? KDJ P.S., looks great so far! Want more, MORE!! ;] (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.general)
