Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

The excellent Star Wars Lego oriented web site - From Bricks to Bothans, (URL) has posted some additional coverage of Lego at Toy Fair. News and pictures cover... - Jurassic Park III - Alpha Team - Dinosaurs - Technic - Jack Stone (new, big figures. (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001) !

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) For anyone who loves the classic minifig, you better check out this new "Jack Stone" line minifigure. In my opinion, it looks like the minifigs days are numbered! Daniel (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

The minifig is fine - remember that I had noted that Jack Stone is intended to be a stepping stone from DUPLO to LEGO - this kind of fig is for this kind of product only. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) Do you have a picture of 8466? Eric - Desperately looking for another good Technic set after 8480 and 8448. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) In fact, if you have permission from LEGO to publish photos from their press kit on your webpage, it would be pretty keen if you would publish all the pictures of the dinos and Jack Stone sets, too. I know your site is Star Wars LEGO, not all (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

Jack Stone seems to be a lot closer to playmobil than lego in my opinion. I've bemoaned the quality of Lego system sets for some time now, and in the past I've even said the sets were getting more like playmobil than lego in that they can really (...) Going up tonight. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

I had simply taken the ready to go pics from the press kit cd - I can go back and scan items from the catalogs as well, I just didn't have the time last night. I'll see what I can do. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

Isn't anyone paying attention to what I had said? Jack Stone is intended to bridge the gap between DUPLO and LEGO - these kinds of sets ARE NOT replacing what you are used to seeing from LEGO System. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) Hey, don't do it on my behalf, I've seen 'em. I just thought if they were all in the press kit it would be keen to get them online, especially given the conversations about the JP3 dinos that have been happening. Still, if you've got the (...)   Re: Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

(...) I think that people are somewhat threatened by the Jack Stone line because the set designs are encroaching on what was system territiry. Perhaps now the Lego System line will confine itself to themes more elaborate than trucks and fire (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) Does any one else think that 8465 Extreme Off-Roader is completely awesome? Just the little picture on FBTB is making me drool. I have stayed away from Technic since my return from the dark ages (not the system compatible technic that I (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

(...) I agree. An hey, who can complain about finally getting a proper black Zodiak in 4606 Aqua Res-Q Transport? I'm also curious about the tranlucent wall panels in 4611 Police HQ. (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

Awwwww yeah! And go check out the 8466 picture that is now up... Oooo...oooh! Aaaaaaaaah! Where do I get in line to pay? (Thanks, Tim!) (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) Was lucky enough to get to play with one of those bad boys this weekend! WOW...it is AMAZING!! Great mix of beams (underneath) and panels (in new sparkly green color) and tubes. A good parts set for AFOLs too, plus it rocks! -Tim (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) Hmmm... At first I though those were gold like those on the C3PO. Can you give us more detail about the set, like does it have real 4 wheel suspension and other mechanical features? (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) No bias there. LOL. I guess it's OK but those panels are just too ubiquitious for my taste, seems everything uses them. Ought to be a good source of tubing, though. Plus it has tank car sections (er, 5561 hubs) in grey. ++Lar (who still hasn't (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: Jack Stone= Playmobil anyone?

Relax, No one is ignoring you, I am just wondering about something other than what you keep adressing. Namely, Lego creating toys that do not need to be constructed, a la playmobil.
