  Re: A Question

(...) Well I have a few I'll probably keep MISB... the 4558 I won at SeriousCollector (the very first thing auctioned there) and a MISB airport shuttle Conan sold me. But in both cases I have more than one and use the other ones regularly. (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A Question

(...) I came here to LUG to talk about it, but the observations were made while watching some of the "high volume" net auctions. I realize it is a circular arguement (why do people in a buy/sell forum buy and sell), but it was just a question of the (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A Question

(...) Thanks Larry. I guess the only fair thing to say is ask me this same question six months from now. Although, in retrospect, I do understand the whole mindset behind buyer security from purchasing a MISB set. No missing parts, instructions (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A Question

My guess is that the vast majority of MISB Lego being bought these days is opened by the buy soon after they receive it. In many cases I believe it's a case of the collectors of yesterday cashing in big on the builders of today. :) "Troy Cefaratti" (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: A Question

  Re: A Question

(...) I have to agree with this. I can't imagine a used Lego set being as much fun as a MISB one. Not only is the joy of opening bags the same as new car smell, it's also all part of the fun. There's just something about opening up each bag, hearing (...) (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Me too. However it seems I spend 50% of my "lego time" here, which is fun, and 45% on commerce, which only sort of is... and at best 5% on actual building.   Re: A Question

(...) Very astute obs... the Fitness Programme of TLG/C is providing us a once in a lifetime opportunity. I expect never again to see this many older sets surface in such a short span of time. I mean, 300 blue hoppers? Who'd have thought? (25 years ago, 27-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
