Re: What's Your Favorite German Word?!

(...) My favourite German is Christian K ;)... oh word... well, just like Adrian, Kartoffel, that amuses me... As I'm currently learning German, I find a few words amusing or interesting, (even while recently being over there) 'Frühstück', which (...) (...) Maybe this (Seen in the Big Shop in LL Windsor): (URL) I just took the photo for its obvious tastelessness, so be warned. And yes, this is Lego at its best ;-) Yours, Christian (22 years ago, 17-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: LEGO Galidor figures

(...) In Denmark 5 of them (8310, 8311, 8313, 8314, 8324) have been on sale for 20 DKr each (appx 2,5 Euro) for a while now; they seem to eventually have been sold out. Arne, Copenhagen (22 years ago, 17-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) You could position the old finger-hinges in an "open" position as well. The only big advantage I've found for the click-hinges is that depending on variation of the click hinges that you have (earlier ones had really floppy click-action, and (...)   Re: LEGO Galidor figures

(...) In the Netherlands they're being dumped for around 3-4 Euro each, depending on size. And still none are sold as of yet... although that couldnt have anything to do with the excellent design right? :D :D (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.no)

  LEGO Galidor figures

Today I discovered the Galidor figures for sale for the first time here where I live (Tromsø, Norway. They was on sale too.... Is 50NOK (about 6 euro or 7.3 US $) cheap for those figures? Even if they are cheap I dont think I will buy any for (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.no)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) Oops. Perhaps my wording was vague, but you're correct. The fingers are indeed compatible, though the bricks/plates themselves are not overly similar. I would guess that they're not sufficiently idential to be in danger of patent infringement. (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) Are you sure about that? They may not be the exact same parts, but the hinge fingers sure look like a match. I'll have to test it though. I'd bet Lego has a patent on the new click hinge finger design, in addition to any patents on the hinged (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) I completely agree with this point, The various click-hinges were cool when I first got them in the 1999 X-Wing set, but they spread like kudzu to overtake every hinge application under the sun!   Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) Another thing to remember is that the click hinge "clicks" and therefore means that you can position canopies and whatever else in an "open" position. Which is better for "playability" (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: 2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

(...) I bought a MegaBlok Alien Agency set on sale (to compare colors) and noticed it came with a nice old style finger hinge. It works quite well, even though it's made of inferior plastic. So you're probably right about the patent. If so, it's (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

2004 Alpha Team: The Good, the Bad, and the Jack Stone

Hey all, Much to my surprise, my local consignment shop had the complete theme. After looking over all the sets, I bought #4743 Ice Blade ($10) and #4742 Chill Speeder ($4). The idea seems to be Alpha Team meets Ice Planet 2002 with a dash of (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)
