Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

(...) Besides the "MyOpinions" site being all but visible, I daresay the most successful legend could be the return of the old colours. Nuff said. Christian (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) Be careful what you wish for. 90+ percent of all the toy brands in the US are owned by two companies that are essentially in the junk business relentlessly trying to make lower cost product with maximum point of sale appeal. Quality and play (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

New Pics of Matt's Roller Coaster

Well, I have finally got updated roller coaster pictures on line. These are pictures of the coaster in its latest rendition, as shown at BrickFest PDX last month. Check www.insidethevault.c...ercoaster. I am still looking for a good video of the (...)   Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) We've got the Hot Wheels catalogue at home. There's some interesting and fantastical cars in there - much moreso than the Matchbox cars, which tend to be acurate models of real cars - I've used it several times for inspiration for Lego models.   Re: I need your help... and info!

(...) Huh? 15x15 baseplate? Did you mean to type 16x16, or were you referring to the 15-inch by 15-inch X-Large baseplate? (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

Jake, I discovered the 'My Opinions' section of the Lego website because of your message. I couldn't get there except through your link, I searched the Lego Club but evidently not so well. Once I got there I tried to do the surveys but in more than (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: I need your help... and info!

(...) Jake, always a pleasure to help some one who works for TLC out. I took my survey. I think that futuron would be a great space series to bring back. That had some good peices that have made it through the years. I would like to make a request (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) In my case it's a mom-and-pop toy shop. Very old school. You go in and the staff practically begs you to play with the toys or let them show you a magic trick. If you sing along to the chorus of the right song you even get candy. It's a small (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: More opinions needed - possible future Legends

WHERE'S THE MINDSTORMS?!?!?!?!?!...?!?!?!?!?! WHERE'S THE TECHNIC?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! If you are not going to list all the "core" themes to select from, at least allow us to input our own like you did on some of the questions. Not once did I see (...)   Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) I'll get my mom to help me. ;) (...) Does *pure* mean sold by the LEGO company? Or does *pure* mean manufactured and sold by LEGO? Or does *pure* mean made from ABS by LEGO company? For me it's more the third one than anything. Other than (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) Funny, I'm trying to make an effort *to* order from S@H rather than purchasing LEGO, from Walmart especially, to try to cut out the middleman and support TLC. (especially after reading the article Lar posted a while back in off-topic about the (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) Yes, they are blister packed, with plastic on both sides. This makes them a bit hard to open but also is quite tamper resistant. (...) No doubt, but it wouldn't be *pure*... :-) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) I don't think it has been mentioned in this thread, so good to point out. I'm trying to be really patient and not order that way. Not for any reason really except to support a local retailer who I know is getting them. They have treated me (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) Wouldn't it be nice if this became a strong seller.... even for a couple of years? Maybe some Bionicle-like sales figures.... only with system pieces instead of theme specific parts. I'm not knocking Bionicle (I own a few) but rather I'm (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) Cool. (...) Also cool. But, I must've blinked and missed it. I did notice they've brought out a Syd Mead design recently, but it's a rather poor likeness. Nothing like the golden era...(sigh) Hey, I don't recognize this neighbourhood any more. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) In case no one has mentioned, these are also now available through S@H (the sets, that is, not the strap AFAIK). Maggie C. (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: KKK described latest restructuring as "last chance" for Lego in FT article

(...) The local comic shop actually has a Matchbox display case that they keep stocked with various vehicles. I'm doubtful, but it's entirely possible that they might have some old pieces in there (they don't seem to sell very often). (...) Hey, Hot (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) They are! (I got a set at Burlingon Mall in MA last week, and another red one just last nite at Mall of America in MA) (...) Nope, you aren't. Nik is agonising over whether to buy the set off me outright or wait till his birthday in a month (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)
