Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) An excellent point. I am one who falls into this category myself. I have little to do with LUGNET (or any other online community), though I have lurked for a great many years. I rarely speak my mind, because I have more interest in playing (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

Ondrew, Count me in. TLG should definately go back to the old colors. Changing standard colors like this severly undermines the part interchangeability which is the cornerstone of the Lego system. - Brian Williams, age 27 (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: New colors and other info

Jake, Thank-you for your response. But this situation is positively ludicrous. Color standards are every bit a part of the Lego system as stud diameter, etc.. I find it difficult to believe that a focus group specifically fingered the greys as not (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) So if most of their customers don't care about the colors, how does this change help them to sell more LEGO? (...) Yet it is a statistically significant sample of their worldwide market. If 85% of LUGNETters think this is a bad idea, and 100% (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Robotex2003 Winner: Lego

Hi all! I am not in to lego robotics myself, but I want to share this: At the Robotex 2003 ((URL) ) competion, the winner was the Lego robot. I did not follow the show that much, but I did notice how efficient the Lego robot was, how fast it found (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.general, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Well I didn't say that they didn't ask any AFOLs, but they apparently didn't ask Jake. I am certain that he could have very quickly and inexpensively given them an idea of the kind of dismay that this would cause for a significant majority of (...)   Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Do you know for certain that AFOLs were not involved in the market research and focus groups for this? It's been pointed out that supposedly there are many AFOLs that aren't online here. Just because no one on Lugnet knew beforehand... I don't (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Yes, and when he found out it appears he made those internal calls and relayed the information to us. The point I'm making is that I don't see why Lego PD would have to call up Jake to inform him every time a product change is made or (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Petition against permanent color changes

(...) For some reason that struck me as an odd statement :) o well. Add my name to the list as well. Allister McLaren - Age 34, and breeding a crop of little Lego fans. (2 and counting) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Traumatic Events in the Life of a Lego Fan

(...) The following is my personal 2 cents, and nothing else. I am perfectly happy that lego is rereleasing old sets, and I hope they continue to do so. For those of us who don't either want to spend our life savings on a misb or get a second hand (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: New colors and other info (ATTN JAKE)

(...) Exactly. Jake is in charge of Community Development. If LEGO wanted to do some market research, why didn't they tap into his direct contact with the community? Jake is a walking focus group in daily contact with their most avid consumer base. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, FTX) !

Re: question about Spider-man set 4851

(...) Well, that was just the push I needed to walk to the toystore and buy this set :-). In my copy of 4851, the 1x2x4 panels are clear - just like in the instructions and on the pictures on the box. I guess you should contact your Lego customer (...)   Re: Why I support LEGO through thick and thin.

  question about Spider-man set 4851

The instructions for the set and the peeron inventory show the "spider tank" has having clear 1 x 2 x 4 panels. However, my set came with "smoke" 1 x 2 x 4 panels. The 1 x 4 x 4 panels are clear like they should be. Is this a 1-off error or has it (...) (22 years ago, 21-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: New colors and other info

(...) I found the gray 50x50 baseplates on Lugnet Guide as early as 1965 (URL) Also the 1965 trainset 323 (URL) contains gray plates. Are the garageboxbottoms the same shade of gray?
