 | | Report from Lego World Show / Legoshow 2003

Hi all! I was in Finland 2 weeks ago to visit the Legoshow Helsinki. The pictures are here: (URL) went there Saturday morning to see the show at 16 o'clock. They let people in in groups for three hours at a time. I decided to go that late as I could (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.events)

(...) The most interesting thing I gleaned from this catalog is hints as to which of the "S@H only" type sets might be available in stores on a limited basis, like some of the Legend and My Own Train sets at ToysRUs and Target last fall. These newer (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

 | | Re: Set Questions
(...) 'Tis true, I should have thought of that. But then, sometimes the value comes out in other ways than just the raw data of what kind of bricks and how many, etc. Thanks Mike. -- Hop-Frog (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Did you check Peeron? (2 URLs) (...) (3 URLs) Well I think that answers most of your questions. I don't know about KT203-7 though. (...) No problem, I am kinda surpised you didn't think of Peeron though. -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

 | | Set Questions
Hey: I'm planning a large purchase from S@H (I'm doing some catch-up buying in themes of lower interest to me than my usual thing) and I have some questions about some of the sets that are available. If I wanted lot's of usable grey bricks and (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, FTX)

 | | Creating Islands using Container Lids from Dinosaur sets

Some time ago, I posted an idea on using the lids from the Dinosaur sets for islands (to be used in the Pirate game). (URL) I've come up with another form of island. This new version is slightly larger (nine studs across instead of eight) and (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.build)

 | | Re: New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides
(...) The poll's not flawed, just incomplete. The real answer is somewhere in between or a little of both. I often find myself building buildings completely void of interiors for train shows largely because they're for 'show' and won't get much(or (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

 | | Re: New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides

(...) Not flawed, but there are some subtlties that the poll misses. First, I'd imagine that there are many people whose building style depends on the situation. The same person might construct only an exterior for a train show, but do full interior (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

 | | Re: New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides

(...) Since you included "Some other option and/or this poll is flawed." it's not flawed. :-) See how that works? :-) What I usually do with buildings wasn't a poll choice: The building has 4 walls, and should look OK from all sides, the roof is (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

(...) Nope. When I was brand new to E-bay I got a set of 6 or 8 Lego vehicles, but when they came I found that one of them was TYCO and another was (even worse) glued. :( I also bought a bag of bricks at a second-hand store and it turned out they (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.general)

 | | New poll: how do you handle building interiors, backsides
Hi all, I figured I'd try putting up a poll for those of you who build buildings. I guess the main question I'm getting at is do you build buildings more for display (how they look as backdrop for your brickfilm or train layout or whatever), or more (...)
