  Re: Happy New Year!

(...) Well...you got it... your message was posted at 12:00:01 Eastern Time (GMT -7), but I got the first post in GMT! (Not to mention the 375,000th on LUGNET!) -Kevin (23 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

  Happy New Year!

I plan this to be the first post of 2003 in my own time (Eastern time). Pretty unlikely, but I can try! :) Happy new year! -JHK (23 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: What's the big deal about the Mini TIE?

(...) Hehe, I remember seeing that. I thought "Wow, what a lame set!" But still, business is business. Kind of sneaky, yet funny. ~Evan Butzlaff (23 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Help defend the artist! (was Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!)

(...) This is what I had to say... I have been a LEGO® enthusiast since childhood, and I find Fionnula Bourke's report to be offensive in that it attempts to link "The Brick Testament" with the likes of child pornography.   I need some help aranging some colors...

I have about 35 different colored 1x2s. I want to arange them in order of there colors. Is there a good color spectrum chart I can refer to? I have looked at the color charts both on bricklink and lugnet but they dont seem to be in a proper rainbow. (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

(...) Hey, thanks for digging. What was the magic search string? I gotta say, while I won't be pasting the page up into my copy of "Ten best designed web pages ever" (I hate stuff that blinks), it's pretty tame stuff indeed. (23 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: Where are the 2003 Lego retail catalogs?

(...) I'm wondering too, having just opened 3562 and 3563 (NBA Collector Packs) and found nothing. I wasn't expecting a catalog, but there wasn't even a fold out pamphlet or a LEGO Club Membership offer. Maybe they'll be in sets shipped later... (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Inspired by one of Larry's posts, I found the Google cache of the links page: (URL) is worth noting that there is also a link to LUGNet. Bryan Beckwith (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: Where are the 2003 Lego retail catalogs?

(...) I just opened a <set:7415 Areo Nomad> and got a catalog. Too bad it was a 2002 catalog. :-( Me thinks LEGO might not of had the catalogs printed in time for the first 2003 sets in North America. Jude (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

  Re: 10066 on LSAH

(...) Oh, BiG question… I don’t know what a ‘bunch’ means to you, but I too purchased a “bunch.” (14 in total) So I've got 14 of set #10066 and 5 of another bulk set. But here’s the deal: Am I gonna get 15% off!!! I really hope the offer applies to (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Where are the 2003 Lego retail catalogs?

Hello everyone, I have purchased a few of the new 2003 sets just to get copies of the retail catalog. For some reason, such catalogs were not included with the larger kits I bought, and I'm just curious if there is a reason for this. I know that in (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.general)

Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

Re: Brick Testament site linked with child porn case??!!

(...) While we beat up this reporter for not understanding BT, let's be a little more careful in our reading of the article. It didn't connect BT with child p*rn; it used it as an example of the poor judgement this person exercised in his choice of (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general)

Re: "Borrowed" Lamborghini Diablo design on Ebay.de

Ultimately this may be the best thing to happen. There's some understanding and a whole lot of us learned something from it. I wonder though, where do you plan to go from here? Did the apology suffice? I suppose you could ask for some of the money (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.de)

Re: Fair Use vs. Infringement (was: Re: Intellectual property and the Internet)

But the problem with that argument is that, in the case mentioned, the notecard had been copyrighted. If somebody went and stole the design, he could get into trouble for copyright infrigment. The defense argued saying that they hadn't copied very (...) (23 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.de)
