  1970's tow truck ?

I have been trying to find reference and/or scans of instructions for one of the old "large vehicles" from the early 70's. Upon checking out Huw's great pages, I noticed the 372 Tow Truck. Some of my earliest Lego memories are of building this (or (...) (26 years ago, 30-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Well.

(...) I've been busy with training and being sick all week (in fact I am missing work right now because I can hardly breathe) and I have to admit, I've had a much easier time following discussions here on Lugnet than on RTL. I've mostly just scanned (...) (26 years ago, 29-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Different kinds of Figs

I think I still have a few of them hanging around in my "rare old parts" bin. I have no cluse where a got most of the parts in that bin, but they still come in handy. (...) (26 years ago, 29-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

(...) Eh, I was only born in 1976, but I've seen pics of 'em. :) Check out (URL) ... thats one of several of the sets that had the maxi-fig children. They were basically just like the adults, but shorter. Sean (26 years ago, 29-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: what's this piece???

(...) Yup. I had 4 of these at one point as you got one with each box of wheels/axle bricks you bought. I only have one now. I distinctly remember one was destroyed by my chewing on it when I was about 8. Sigh. I also remember trying very hard to (...) (26 years ago, 29-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  what's this piece???

as formerly mentioned, i recently got set #375 (1960s Samsonite brick set) at a yard sale for $1. not too special -- it's just a "universal" style set -- but it has a lot of clear bricks and old-style windows and doors and wheels and whatnot, which (...)   Re: Different kinds of Figs

AFAIK, "maxifig" is the unofficial name for the "big people" of the 70's (the ones that you mentioned below), which are also called as "bendyarm"s. I haven't hear any approved term for technic figures, but I prefer calling them "technifigs"..:-D (...) (26 years ago, 28-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Different kinds of Figs

(...) Nope. See below. I call 'em Technic Guys. (Hopefully someday "Technic People" will become more appropriate. See other thread....) (...) THOSE were maxifigs. (26 years ago, 28-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  Different kinds of Figs

Here's a topic or two.. I was just thinking... If you call the 'Town' scale people minifigs, what do you call the Technic scale people? - Maxifigs?? Anybody else remember the really _BIG_ people? pre-minifigs? they had arms like Technic, but were (...) (26 years ago, 28-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

What is complete (was Re: New vs. old (was Re: More 1999 Figs... ?)

(...) I think most completists agree that a total reissue (if under a different number) does not take the place of the original set. So if they reissed an M:tron set, you'd need both versions to be M:tron complete. (1) Analogy is with the (...) (26 years ago, 28-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)
