That's pretty cool. I have the older version of the boxed game (the
first plastic version by Mattel)...are your pieces based on the current
version's designs, or are they original?

One thing I think is a possible downside to your version...the boxed
game (at least, my version of it) has raised squares on the playing
surface so that pieces can be placed in the middle of the board and stay
in place. Covering your board with tiles makes a smooth flat playing
surface, and pieces could slide around too easily.

But I'm not sure what would be an appropriate solution. Leaving a fully
studded surface would risk having pieces come apart when you remove
them. I'm trying to think of a way you might use jumpers without having
to abandon the checkerboard pattern, but nothing's coming to mind.
