Hi Jamie,
I noticed you cast some lead bricks? I recently aquired my grandfather's
crucible and ladle and want to try to create some 2x4x1 lead bricks... If I
understand your post correctly, you have created custon leads molds ?  Could you
tell me a little bit about the process and the types of materials you have used
to make the molds with? I am aware of some of the potential dangers in lead
casting but any extra insights you could share would be greatly appreciated.
What I hope to create is 2x4 standard size leads bricks so the weights can be
changed to suit the application in the models.
   Thanks!

Aghhh, i remember this school project! I tried regular bricks, way too
light. Then came up with the brainwave of creating some lead (need to
be really careful here) duplo style bricks. made the moulds, made a
heap of bricks and based them, then built around them. They waorked on
smallish books ok, but those darn Physics and C++ books just laughed
and the Lego ran away :-{ What you could do also is to add some
attachment to the bookend so it can latch either onto the wall or to
the shelf. Add some support in the bookend and as long as the core
holds it should hold most medium sized books as well.

I wonder if i should risk making some centre pieces?

Cheerio
