Re: I'll deserve coal next year!

(...) Penne does work VERY well for this. It's not so funny when, as an AFOL, someone does this to you with a non-Lego gift, however. Two Christmases ago my then-girlfriend did that to me; she found a box that was JUST the right dimensions for Lego, (...) (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

Re: Happy Christmas! from The Brick Testament

(...) My Brick Testament Christmas card arrived in the post yesterday and it is BY FAR the best season's greeting I've received this year. In fact, stumbling across the Reverend's announcement the other day on one of my now rare visits to this site (...) (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.fun.holiday, FTX)

Just received your card this morning here in the UK. I would like to say thank you for the time you spent doing this. As my wife said, it's lovely. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Tim (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.fun.holiday, FTX)

(...) -snipped lots of fun stuff- A couple of years ago, my wife (Beth) opened all the boxes of lego she was giving me and padded the contents. No magical rattling sound when the presents under the tree were investigated. (But a nice surprise on (...) (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

(...) Oh great! Why does this happen? Those lines that go on forever? Looked great on the preview. And now I'm being told that I can't even post this due to the quotes above being too long or high in %. I wonder if I just add any ol gobbily gook (...)   I'll deserve coal next year!

My wife Laurette is the one who helped end my dark ages 14 years ago by placing a 25 piece 6811 Pulsar Charger (URL) in my Christmas stocking as a gag gift. That gag gift's piece count has since been squared and squared again (25 X 25 X 25 X 25). I (...) (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun)

(...) We just received our card today, and I wanted to give you a public thank you. The card it wonderful!   Re: 8x9 foot LEGO menorah constructed in Burlingame, CA

(...) Yeah, that also struck me as very odd. It hardly seems like LEGO to be so discouraging, and besides, what's so impossible about an 8'x9' LEGO menorah anyhow? I'm wondering if "It can't be done" was not LEGO's answer to "Is it possible to build (...) (20 years ago, 21-Dec-04, to lugnet.fun.holiday, FTX)

8x9 foot LEGO menorah constructed in Burlingame, CA

I found out about this too late to go see it in action, but apparently a rabbi in Burlingame, CA (just south of San Francisco) built an 8-foot-tall, 9-foot-wide menorah, complete with candle holders and electric lights.
