Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) I too have a NLSO but I've gone to the past two Brickfests in DC, taking the boys (early teens) along both times. Last summer I also brought my dad, a NLfather. He went along to see some museums and such and help driving from Nashville. He was (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.events)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) It's been a combination of location and a NLSO. Now that I live in DC, hopefully I will be able to get to the next BF, if only for the public exposition. In the past when I was not near a fest, it's kind of hard to say "Well, honey, I love you (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.events)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) Why haven't you attended a fest? Seriously. Is it time? Location? Money? While more events doesn't help with the money, (except for cutting down travel-expenses), it can help with the correct time, or better location. As you said, these may (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.events)

BrickWorld 07 Train Layout call for participation

Hello Train Heads! I will be heading up the train layout coordination for BrickWorld 2007. I'd like to send a call-out for participation from both clubs and individuals in this display.   Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

I actually have not yet been to a fest, so perhaps my input means less here, but I'm all for having multiple fests each year. To me it comes down to a simple question - do we have the same group of people, now diluted over multiple fests (and (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.events, FTX)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) The proliferation of fests is very similar to the proliferation of web homes. Once there was none and that was bad. Then there was lugnet, and that was good. But lugnet doesn't fit everyone's tastes and needs the same way. So perhaps the (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.events, FTX)

  Re: Brickworld Needs YOU

(...) Boing! It appears that another LEGO event has just popped onto our calendar;-) We'd love to bring the (URL) TCLTC> layout to display, as a sort of warm-up for the ILTCO Convention in July. I'd bet the GMLTC would seriously consider bringing (...) (18 years ago, 11-Dec-06, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) As one of the "fest proliferators" I would like to add my 2 cents... We decided to create Brickworld because there was no centrally located large AFOL event and we believe that there are many midwest, mountain and west coast AFOLs that would (...)   Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

How many are there? Where are they all and when do they generally (...) (18 years ago, 10-Dec-06, to lugnet.events)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

(...) Hey, what about those of us who don't live in a corner of the country, like along the northern edge instead? :) There are some fests popping up that are more regional in nature. For example, the event I produce, Brick Bash, is held here in Ann (...) (18 years ago, 10-Dec-06, to lugnet.events)

Re: The proliferation of fests: Good or bad?

I always thought a good idea or rule of thumb would be to have one per season, so that would be 4 per year. One for each corner of the continental USA, if we are talking Fests for the Americas. However, with the space the PDX folks have, I can see (...) (18 years ago, 10-Dec-06, to lugnet.events)
