Wow!

Todd, those were GREAT ideas!
The only things I might add if it were my toy company are:

1) To (maybe) re-release discontinued items that are exteremly wanted. I mean,
think Demand and Supply - people are willing to pay a heck of a lot for stuff
like Metroliners, Pirate Ships, Old Castles, etc., and if TLC would supply
them, people *would* buy.

(The only thing is, if you could order pieces independently, you could
probably order all the pieces needed to build that...)

2) To let the customers suggest new themes, and have a vote on them, say every
half year or so. For example: between January and March, people could suggest
new themes in the website or by mail (stuff like city life in space, farms, I
don't know what). Then, between March and April, TLC could organize all the
themes suggested into general ideas, and then, from April to June, people
could vote on it.  Between July and September the best theme would be thought
over and designed by TLC, released on September, by that time people would
have suggested new ideas, and the cycle would repeat itself.
These themes wouldn't have to be the *only* themes TLC would introduce, but
a nice addition to them.

(...) It's true. A "Lego Classics" (not to be confused with "Lego Classic"!) line would do extremely well. (...) A lot of pieces aren't being made anymore -- I doubt you'll be able to order those. (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) trouble is I dont think people are thinking demand and supply. The reason people are willing to pay so much, is because they are not available. If they were freely available, then they would not be in so much demand. Evidence is that when they (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
