And if you have a grievance against someone, I will reiterate--a politely and
non-accusatory response is a better way of working towards an amicable solution
for all parties involved, than a rant.

Amen. I agree 100%.

Steven is right in line here.  Lego in no way will respond to politeness.
The only thing they will respond to is a reduction in sales, PERIOD.  The
more people that refuse to buy the 2004 sets the better!

I look at it this way:

It's still LEGO, right?  Sure, the model in the box may have an element the you
don't like but nothing forces you to build the model the way it is pictured.
Some of the colors may be different but all the bricks that you have now didn't
suddenly change color.  Some of the pieces may seem specialized but, again,
nothing forces you to use them in their intended way.  A little creativity goes
a long way.

This doesn't mean that we need to be the lap dogs of the LEGO company.  If you
don't like something, say so but do it a civil tone.  As Dave said, we're mostly
adults here or very close to it.  Instead of throwing a temper tantrum, how
about establishing a dialog.  There are many, many ways of making people notice
your point of view without losing your composure.  And making your point without
losing your composure is always the way to go.

Thank you Lego! The more I see of these sets the easier it will be not to buy any of them. Bionicle parts have no business in true Technic sets. They are different themes and should be kept that way! Cutting corners by using those parts in sets like (...) (21 years ago, 6-Feb-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)
