You're the first person I've seen that likes the pea soup puke green. • There's a
reason why those panels don't sell well on Bricklink.  The color is • hideous.  It
was hideous when it started showing on real cars in the 70s, and it's • still
hideous today (yet OEMs still occasionally sell a car in that nastly • shade).

I would bet that if they had used silver or dark silver in place of the • puke
green, the set would have sold better.  I know *I* have more puke green • panels
than I know what to do with, so the spray paint is probably going to have • to come
out to make them at all useful to me.

I'm with you there! The color sucks and yes, going to BrickLink to get those
pannels in another color as Orion mentioned is a good idea.

One thing that has certainly got to get some coverage but would go into more
is the styling of the body- not just its color or the functionality of the
model.

When I'm reading mags like Road & Track, Automobile, etc. and see the SUV's
being put out by manufactures like Porsche and BMW (just to name a few) why
wasn't such styling used.  To me, the 8466 looks like a warped AMC Gremlin
that's been lifted!  (Didn't AMC use that puke green too?)

I bought the 8466 primarily for its functions- body styling was second.
LEGO got the body styling right in both the 8880 and 8448 but I think they
screwed up when they made the 8466.

I have to admit that I don't like the green panels either so that's the reason why I didn't use them in my MOC out of the 8458 and 8466. For me the most important parts (...)
