 Dear LEGO / 2039
A minifig pack for EVERY theme —David Simmons
Greetings all, Here's an idea who's time is definitely overdue. With the reintroduction of Castle and the long-unseen and much-coveted maiden's cap returning in black, it's clear that every theme or sub-theme that TLG produces would profit greatly (...)         Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Matthew Miller
(...) Yes, definitely. Ideally, with significantly more of common characters (peasants, stormtroopers) than of "specialty" ones (Darth Vader, kings and princesses). In fact, it might even be reasonable for the minifig packs to _only_ have generic (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Dean Husby
(...) Ahh but that's the POINT. They WANT you to shell out $$ for the items. That's why all the rare characters are in the BIG sets... It's marketing... Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Then explain the Rock Raiders fig pack. I for one never intend to buy any Rock Raider set unless it is at a steep discount but I will probably get at least 100 of those fig packs. (Space Marines, Pilots, and Engineers; Town Construction (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Matthew Miller
(...) That's why I think common-characters-only packs would be a great solution. The rare special characters are still in the big sets, yet you can get a lot of the basic people. (24 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Mike Petrucelli
(...) That's (...) Rock (...) Well the orange guy (space engineer to me) is a rare fig that is only in the large set. He is supposedly the leader. If castle did the same type of set It would have a useless king. The princess could easily become a (...) (24 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Shiri Dori
(...) I agree. We do NOT want 1000 copies each of (for example) Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Strom, Queen Leonara, Willa the Witch, Basil the Bat Lord, the WW bad guys, or any other "personalized" and characterized minifig (...)          Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Frank Filz
(...) I'd agree with this generally, EXCEPT, there is a tendency for the only female characters to be rare unique characters. Willa is about the only female I have seen that I don't want a bunch of (and she's a common figure - go figure). Give us (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Susan Hoover
(...) Here's a better idea: Stop making all of the scarred/mustachioed/...lipsticked faces and go back to plain smileys. Then they can be either. Unless your women have hormone problems and your men are cross-dressers, it's hard to use today's (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Mike Petrucelli
(...) You're comparing Willa the Witch to every other female face? Every other female face could be used for anything. Willa definately can't. That is what makes her a bad mini-face. I have seen the close-up picture of the Queen and princess (I was (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Shiri Dori
(...) No, no way! I was just giving the most obvious example... (...) Well, you might think you wouldn't mind, and perhaps you wouldn't; but perhaps you think you would because you DON'T have them (1). I have one of each and like them, yet if I had (...)          Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —David Low
(...) Just a quick plug for one of my favourite small sets -- 1271/5905. The Gail Storm face is pretty near generic: the clone factor (as id'ed by Shiri) is still a bit of a problem, but you can use those features nearly anywhere and they seem to (...)           Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Shiri Dori
(...) You're right, Gail Storm is great. I liek her face a lot, luckily only have two so no cloning problems yet. However, by saying Princess Storm I meant the Castle princess Storm, as appeared in 6071. She's truly awesome, I love her. The (...)          Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Well I understand what you are saying. The way I look at it though is: Any face that doesn't have a microphone, hideous grin, eyepatch, monocle, or such is a generic face regardless of how detailed it is. If I can put it on a space person, (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme —Steve Bliss
(...) Disagree. LEGO used to do a lot more minifig packs. Town, Space, Castle, Pirates, there was even a Wild West mfp. They've only recently started doing fewer of them. I'm guessing mfp's are not big sellers. They may be popular among the True (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !
