Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) Given a bunch of asses and this nice fellow, why not pick him? At least its exclusively what he does. Its not about buying the sets for resell for me. Its about TLC giving everyone an even chance, that's all. Why is that so ridiculous a thing (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Paul Sinasohn wrote in message ... (...) through (...) It may have died because they decided they wanted to work it through Lego Direct. Or, alternatively, it may have been a significant factor in shaping Lego Direct. In any case, I think Brad is (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Although this is not a very practical business model there's no escaping the fact that some products are dogs and you'd do well to get something (...)   Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) Of course, we thought we had a shot at this consortium thing last year through Denmark, but nothing ever came of it. And someone mentioned the Constitution set in this thread - were there really Constitution sets available??? I would like to (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

I've got a few thoughts here (like I haven't already): The fact that the outlet will not ship to nearby customers sucks. There is no good reason to limit where they ship. If that is a policy of TLC, hopefully they will can that policy as a result of (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) At this point I have to concur with Todd. Let's look at this way. In an article just published with Tom Stangle as the focal, (or was it mindstorms... anyway,) Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, TLC Pres, remarks that this year has pulled them out of hot (...)   Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!

(...) Where does this "elitism" come from? You sound like you're mad that you're not getting picked to play football or that you're mad the popular girl won out over the nice girl for prom queen. It's the market. It's reality. All this whining is (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) Although the "elite have's" are more than likely the ones, even among AFOLs, who will be their best customers. I don't know what Lego Direct will end up being, if anything at all. I'm _personally_ offended at the nonchalant way ol Brad jumps (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) Going with what actually happened, what would you propose the manager have done that would qualify, in your book, as NOT underhanded or wrong? Post some silly "I'll have some stuff on sale tomorrow - call in and find out what it is" message (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Lego Direct (was Re: Georgia LEGO Outlet is Cool!)

(...) I'm in. But I guess we might as well for Lego Direct to happen / not happen and see what they can come up with. I just hope they aren't listening to or dealing exclusively with the "have's" in this thread -- they are probably the wrong fellows (...) (25 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
