Gary, I'm not interested to start my own "Customize brick compagnie" ;-)
But I can tell the Lego community how I do it. Customize theses bricks
is not something easy but, I'm sure if you use the right tool, and if
you realy take the time to be carefull, you can do it by yourself.
I scrapped few brick before I got a nice result.
-First, I found a "U" shape metal railing 24 mm large inside like this ¦____¦
(the size of the brick) by at least 10 mm high
-Then I cut it at 45 degrees
-Inside the railing, I instaled a "stopper" at exactly 32 mm from the longer
size and 8 mm from the shorter size
-I place the brick into the railing
-I hold it with my index finger
-Using a disk sanding bench tool with a very fine paper (120) I sand the brick
until it reach the railing. If you dont have a sander, a small saw (or Exacto
knife) with as much teet per inch as possible (32 or more) and use a sand
paper todo the "fine tuning"
You can do both brick (left and right) with the same railing, just rotate
the brick.
After both side are made, I clip them up-side-down under a big 1x4x8 brick
to verify if they join perfectly. Sometime, they need to be re-touch.
To glue them, in the same position under the 1x4x8 brick, I carefully spread
A.B.S. plubing glue under (specialy inside the cylinder of the brick) and let
it dry for at least 24h. If you have some "O" ring who fit around the cylinder
under the brick, it make the join stronger. Using another type of glue can
damage and/or discolore the brick.
Good luck! (excuse my english)

| Wow, Stephane, can I send you some 4x3 bricks to customize? I could have used 12 of those in red in my new Cathedral. You could start a LEGO Customizing Service! Gary Istok (...) (25 years ago, 17-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
