  Re: The Boats line

Yeah I have input on this one... Take the tente sets from the early 80's they had all this...now make them to minifig scale in Lego design and I know all us boat, ferry, tanker, airplane carrier and oceanic research center fanatics will have hours (...)   Re: Brad: A way for almost ANY piece to be sold...

Where do I apply for this job? I have a sabbatical coming! Seriously, this is a darn good idea. (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Brad: A way for almost ANY piece to be sold...

I have posted this in th epast, but since I don't know how long Brad & co. have been reading, I do so again... Why not hire one or two promising high school students out of good ol' Enfield High, and make them apprentices in the model department? (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) Y'think? I'm not saying I've tried it, but I seem to remember posts from some of the electronics experts saying they thought there was circuitry to deal with a wide range of inputs.... (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

Richard, please learn how to cross post, if you would. You've started this thread, or a very similar one, in more than one group. It's far better to post one post to several groups. Thanks. Cross posting is easy no matter whether you are using the (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

(...) I have all three of those as well, and I'll agree, they could be more, but I like them. My only problem with 6095 is that it's at the wrong price point. (2 less pieces=10 more bucks?!?!?) (...) You seem to be assuming that this piece will (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bulk Pieces suggestions

Another hypothetical implementation of bulk sales could have online databases showing the factory production schedules of what pieces, with deadlines for ordering so you could get pieces quickly. Also, an ordering database could allow group members (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

(...) <snip rant> Richard, you need to take a deep breath. If you don't like the sets, why not combine them to create some MOCs? Not many sets TLC produces are worth keeping assembled, so what's new? You have been given the tools. Use them. Until I (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

In lugnet.dear-lego, Richard Marchetti writes: Massive snippectomy (...) This is very silly. LEGO has concerned itself with us AFOLers so very very very little in the past that if their goal was to simply ignore us, they would continue to do so (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  New Castle Sucks (so far...)

Fellow Lugnuts: I just had the good fortune/misfortune to receive 6095, 6094, and 6032 as Xmas gifts. I am not going to review these sets except in a cursory way. The gist of this post is to complain on behalf of new castle buyers -- that new castle (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bulk Pieces suggestions

I'll chime in on a slightly different vein. Rather than us telling them what we want (which is good) and hoping they can come up with it (which may turn out disappointing), how about if they tell us what they can easily offer, what they can offer (...)   Re: Brad Justus' Comments - Why Complain?

I believe that my 25 years of collecting and building with the Brick, and about $50,000 spending - not counting increased rents, storage materials and other expenses - during that time, qualifies me as "serious".   Wayne Hussey's Comments - Why Not Complain? (was Re: Brad...)

(...) It may of interest noting here that I have yet to read or hear of a rational AFOL who griped about TLC owing them anything. But if I do, it's usually ignored by me. How about you? (...) Everyone here realizes that. Please read the "Fair Play" (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Are the Accessory Bricks Going to be canceled? to Brad, or lego rep

Hello Brad and/or Lego Rep, I really need to know if the Gray brick packs are going to be canceled as some rumors indicate. I hope they aren't, and if not, I would like to see Lt gray roof bricks and arches in the future.I would like to also know if (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Brad Justus' Comments - Why Complain?

Hey Dad!! You seem to be too old to play with Lego. So your message isn't a gripe? And can't be very serious if you've only spent a couple of bucks on lego, come back when it's more like 20 or 30 grand. Mark H. (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: LEGO Direct Questions

(...) Hmm... per piece price on the 2x4 brick and other similar bricks needs to be somewhat lower than 10 cents a brick. Thanksgiving 1998 got me zillions of 400 piece buckets for 4 dollars USD each (after using a 1 dollar coupon I had hoarded, (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Bulk Pieces suggestions

(...) Of course, LEGO has all of us beat building a model of the tallest freestanding structure in the world, the CN Tower in Toronto...since there is a 12 ft tall (or so...I haven't seen it in a while) model of it already :) James P (25 years ago, 26-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
