 Dear LEGO / 1057 (-20)
Re: Idea for if Lego ever revives Imperials

(...) Ditto for 6067. But not 6071. I can't see myself buying more than about 20. :) I agree - I'd guess that the vast majority of AFOL's go for parts, not profit. James (URL) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Idea for if Lego ever revives Imperials

(...) Ah, who cares about preserving the value of older sets for collectors? I think you could make the argument that blue or red torsos would be better or cooler, but I for one wouldn't give a flying rodent's behind about the effect revising older (...)   Re: Idea for if Lego ever revives Imperials

(...) I think he's talking about the Imperial Soldiers (Redcoats and Bluecoats) in the old Lego Pirates theme. Based on the minifigs in my possession, by comparing the print jobs on White-Torso minifigs to the print jobs on (Other)-Torso minifigs, (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Yo Timbo! (As taken from the current James Bond themes, Yo Jimbo!) Revive? Did they ever produce them in the first place? Scott S. (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Idea for if Lego ever revives Imperials

I have a good idea for Lego if they rerelease Imperial Soldiers at some point. Print on different colored torsos, red guards on red torsos, blue guards on blue torsos. This would make the distinction between the classic ones and the new ones (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Thanks for the welcome

(...) I should point out that Rose was referring to the 2000 consumer catalog I found in a set I purchased, not the vendor catalog :) KL (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Thanks for the welcome

<snip lots of wonderful news> I would just like to say thank you once again and welcome. I like everyone else can't wait to share our feelings and ideas with you. I am sure some of us will be more critical than others but without constructive (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Well. Wow. What can I say? It certainly appears as if we have opened Pandora’s Bucket… First, allow me to thank you all for your overwhelmingly warm welcome. I can assure you, it is as thrilling to us to be able to make the announcement of LEGO (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.announce) !

Re: Suggestions for Lego: My two cents

(...) (snip) (...) The trojan war? How about a big lego horse with minifigs hiding in it? A menotar. The cyclops. Medusa minifig hair. :) Greek warships with oarsmen. What would greek fire look like?   Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) How about a new, smaller, style for input/output ports, perhaps a 3.5mm plug? This would allow more ports in less space on the RCX. But it would also require a port-to-LEGO conversion wire, so all the existing electric stuff can be hooked up. (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Enough already

(...) Heh. The "for the public use" meaning is pretty much gone these days. As far as I know, it pretty much solely means the second definition: "2. To seize by or as if by authority". (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

I would like to include in this wish-list: small (1/2 size current motor) servo motors. Ideally, these could connect to the standard RCX output and be set to rotate directly to any angle (in, say, 15 degree increments?). The implimentation of this (...)   Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) The MIT ones use 9V batteries. But they tend to use the smaller micromotors, I think, and those surely don't have as much draw. (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) Just for reference by lego, these are now available in versions that do not have any mercury in them. Would be wise to use those, given mercury's poisonousness. A lot more expensive ($4 vs. $0.50, or something like that), but worth it IMHO. (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
