(...) How about 'built set from instructions' That is how I do inventories. Using sets I own, I build them per instructions, then disassemble and create the inventory by counting the actual pieces. I also double check the count by counting the (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Most of us are unlikely to find MISB sets from 1980, but it would still be nice to have an inventory. . .and know that the inventory was not as reliable as one from an MISB set. (...) For sets with a high percentage of normal-type pieces, I use ML-CAD - if there are instructions I'll build it, approximating position to save time, or for freestyle and the like, just a grid of pieces with multiples stacked. I have a horror of (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

(...) Yeah, I have been doing them manually, too. A ton of parts lookups in partsref, let me tell you... I like databases since I can work with the keyboard and forget the mouse so I create inventories as a database (.dbf) and then save again as (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

I received this set second-hand (with pieces and idea sheet, but no polybag), but I can build all of the models on the idea sheet and the part count (25) matches that shown in the Lugnet set database. The formatting may not be quite what people (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

The formatting may not be quite what people like, but it's short enough that you can convert it yourself. :) The part numbers used are those from the Peeron list. One part (used in the tail of 7000 and in the neck of 7001) does not appear to have a (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.inv)
