Agreed, however, I think a committee is the best place for a discussion of this
sort. Posting on lugnet, while nice and open to all, tends towards ideas
becoming buried or lost - and eventually no action is take.

My initial thought was to organize .castle users so that when events such as
Brickfest come around, we could come together and set up a “real” world that
had previously only existed on the CW website. Hence “Castle World.” • -snip-
If I want to work with two other people and come up with an ice kingdom,
that’s what we do. We set up a website, build a few structures, and design
the kingdom. The emphasis would be on individuals working toward something
greater - a Kingdom.

My criticism to this, and your explication
here: while these are some great
ideas, they don’t really reflect the building abilities of what i’ve seen on
lugnet in the past year. Yeah some builders have collections large enough to
build a world and keep it built, most don’t. If I build the keep from the
capital of my world, I don’t want to have to think up some weird thing to happen
that destroys it for me to build something else.
Also, it’s in my observations that most people don’t create world often, or with
others. Nick Oranzi has Jahmong and most of his creations fit in there. Sava
has Ikros, and his creations fit in there. The only time I’ve seen anyone create
a world together was IOM.
So, while these are some interesting ideas, I’m not sure they fit .castle right
now.

So ... what exactly is the purpose of the new CW? A community? A >collection
of links?

I think purpose should be expanded from castle storytelling, to all aspects of
the castle community. i think the site/group could become the first place to go
for all aspects of LEGO castle building. Especially including organization and
presentation of public displays (so that CW members could work together to get
some kickass displays, not just at Brickfests or whatever, but move out into the
real world - there are alot of oppertunities out there if castleheads are
willing.)
