  Re: another IOM question

(...) Hmm ... there is a period of adjustment that everyone goes through once they enter the mist. While certain races adjust quicker than others, none really adjust completely - the mist effects all sensory functions - not just sound or sight. But (...)   Re: another IOM question

(...) Do you mean big machines like catapults? How about the ship's winch? "Captain, we can't seem to get the anchor up... the crank is corroded fast!" Perhaps what you are trying to rule out is those exceedingly clever imaginary moving parts? (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

  Re: another IOM question

(...) Hmmm ... the mechanical dilemma. Let's examine a few givens: 1) Magic as well as all machines are rendered useless within the mist. 2) Magic and machines become more hindered the closer they approach the mist. 3) Magic is much more effected (...)   Re: My IOM updates on CastLEGO

Hiya, I'd like to send a large group. OK, a large shipful of people who need a place to build a colony. I'm not a member of Castle World yet, so when I get my ship built and photographed, is that all I need to do? I'll post a journal entry when that (...)   Re: another IOM question

<snip> (...) Didn't we decide that the mist nullifies both magic and any sort of technological or mechanical device? I think, if the mist won't let anything magical work while it's in the mist's proximity, then the mist won't let anything mechanical (...) (23 years ago, 23-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

  Re: another IOM question

(...) Sure - the more, the merrier. They can be in different parties as well. Your call. (...) For the most part, airships aren't considered magic - they are considered mechanical. What does your airship use as a source of fuel? Examine that ... I (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: My IOM updates on CastLEGO

(...) Jeff - good to hear from you! I was browsing Brickshelf, came upon the pictures of your castle (under Brickwars), and flashed back to this Summer at Brickfest. Anyway - to your question :) If you can stay on top of many groups, we WANT you to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: My IOM updates on CastLEGO

(...) Hmm, that's where I was thinking of sending my guys... Hope you don't mind company when I finally get my airship finished. :) BTW, can we only send one group? I kinda wanted to send a group of my villains there, too... Jeff (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

  My IOM updates on CastLEGO

Hey fellas, I've put up an update about Lumina, Siffera, Franz and their ship's voyage to the Isle. They are already in view of the Isle and are rounding the northwest, aiming at North 5 West 3. They intend to arrive tomorrow. (URL) to meet you all (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: how big is the Isle of Mist?

(...) The whole Isle is made up of four Fields. Each Field is 8 x 8 Realms. I guess I should have mentioned that :) Either way - it's very large. Did that clear things up? I'll be posting an illustrated FAQ about this soon. -- Pawel (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: how big is the Isle of Mist?

Wow, it's bigger than I thought! So, if Kobayashi is moored in the small cove at the very southern end of N0W6, and Llewelyn and friends are in the bay at the northern end of the realm, there's probably a good 15-20 miles between us. That's cool. (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: how big is the Isle of Mist?

(...) Lemme get this straight. So the whole Isle is made of 4 realms? Then *each* realm has 32 x 32 (= 1024) acres? So the whole map, including water, has 4096 acres. Every acre is equivalent to how much on the map? I am guessing that, since there (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: how big is the Isle of Mist?

(...) I just got off the phone with Craig Hamilton, and here is how we measured the map: 1 Realm (segment of the isle) = 32 x 32 Acres (not REAL acres) = 128 x 128 Baseplates = 32 x 32 Studs. As you can see, we have the size of the island down to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

how big is the Isle of Mist?

How long would it take to walk across one of the segments of the island? Is it something that can be done in a day? Half a day? 20 minutes? Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)
