No I don't have landscaping yet, though for battles this big, they can (and
were) really only be fought on big plains. The battle of Vo Mimbre was fought
on the plain outside of the golden city of Vo Mimbre (which means I need to
get my hands on a Yellow Castle if I'm going to do it right) which had a great
forest near it (after the battle the forest was chopped down for firewood,
I'll let you figure out what they needed to burn). Thull Mardu is a city on a
plateau with a river running by it, that's about all the landscaping that goes
into these battles. This project is still in the early stages anyway.
I would reccomend David Eddings if you liked the other authors you mentioned.
His first book in the Belgariad is Pawn of Prophecy. It's the beginning of
the 5-book Belgariad, which is follwed by the 5-book Mallorean. That is then
followed by two stand-alone books that detail the back story of the world. He
also has a seperate series in a different world which I haven't read. Be
forwarned that the beginning of Pawn of Prophecy can be slow, so give it some
time, it's the only slow part of the whole 10 books.
