would survive a great war!

If each force ( all 12 ) entered into a gigantic battlefield, who would
emerge as the survivor!

I'm actually considering doing something similar to this!  If anyone reads
David Eddings I'm considering recreating the battles of Vo Mimbre (from
Belgarath the Sorcerer) and Thull Mardu (from the Belgariad) with LEGO
minfigs.

For those of you who don't read Eddings (first of all, you should) his • fantasy
world consists of 13 countries.  The two battles above are massive affairs
involving 12 of them (one of the countries is just ignored by all the
others).  The four "evil" countries have general infantry troops while the
eight "good" countries all specialize in different type of troops (pikesmen
form one country, light horsemen from another, archers from a third, etc.). • I
was planning to get a bunch of minifigs of each type to create the various
armies, having one minifig represent about 1000 troops.  (The legendary • charge
of the Mimbrate calvary at the battle of Vo Mimbre involved a minimum of
10,000 troops)  I've kind of picked minifigs from each line to represent the
various troops, but I don't have my notes handy.  In the end it would be more
of a good vs. evil fight instead of an all out melee but it would look
similar.  It will take a while to get all the minifigs I need, but when I do • I
plan to take many photos.

Sounds ‘incredible,’ can't wait to see the pictures!!!
Do you have a landscape set up for this enormous battle?

I’ve never heard of your author Endings, I know Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings
and Mckiernan’s Iron Tower Trilogy, but I haven’t  read your guy.

No I don't have landscaping yet, though for battles this big, they can (and
were) really only be fought on big plains.  The battle of Vo Mimbre was fought
on the plain outside of the golden city of Vo Mimbre (which means I need to
get my hands on a Yellow Castle if I'm going to do it right) which had a great
forest near it (after the battle the forest was chopped down for firewood,
I'll let you figure out what they needed to burn).  Thull Mardu is a city on a
plateau with a river running by it, that's about all the landscaping that goes
into these battles.  This project is still in the early stages anyway.

I would reccomend David Eddings if you liked the other authors you mentioned.
His first book in the Belgariad is Pawn of Prophecy.  It's the beginning of
the 5-book Belgariad, which is follwed by the 5-book Mallorean.  That is then
followed by two stand-alone books that detail the back story of the world.  He
also has a seperate series in a different world which I haven't read.  Be
forwarned that the beginning of Pawn of Prophecy can be slow, so give it some
time, it's the only slow part of the whole 10 books.
