Your battlefield pics on Brickshelf look great.  I love the village.

The tower has two internal floors, a roof and a lookout spire, and the upper
floors are lift-offs so that action can take place inside.  I haven't figured
out exactly how to do the stairs up to the door (which is at the top of the
ninja walls at the base), but the rest is done.

You can just hang one of those short brown ladders off the side.  You could
attach a rope to the bottom of the ladder so defenders could haul it up when
the tower was threatened by attackers.
