So we're now at $2.00 per minifig just for sleeping quarters!  If I have
an army of 50, I need to shell out $100.  And that's not even including
a kitchen and dining hall...

Do it the old-fashioned way - have everybody bed down in the Great Hall.
8)  Only the nobles and important people get "quarters".  You might want
to lay in a supply of dogs to keep the 'figs warm though.

If you insist on beds, make them much smaller than "modern" beds.  Beds
were *tiny* back then.

The soldiers might not *need* a chest each (I'm assuming you're using the
treasure chests?) to hold their personal possessions.  They've probably
only got one or two changes of clothes, and they probably keep a lot of
their personal possessions (knife, money, etc) with them.  It's not like
they had a lot of stuff...think of all the things you might have in a
chest but then remove all the stuff that didn't exist in the middle
ages and you'll see that there's a very tiny amount of stuff left.

  The cost of minifigs

Boy, minifigs sure are expensive! Not to purchase, but to maintain! I've started planning of the barracks for my fortress, and it appears that the magic number is 6x12 "studs" of floor space for every two minifigs (or 72 square studs). Why is that (...) (24 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.castle)
