Your black-robed character looks almost exactly like
my main character I'm doing for CastleWorld!!!  >:-(

Hmm, perhaps this _is_ your character,
I've not named the charcter
or given him much definition in the story I'm writing,
Depending on a lot of things could we share?

This could be rather cool.
Thanks for the offer!  :-)

The action in the story takes place in Nihon.
Has your character ever been there or nearby
(is it possible he has travelled?)

Possibly.  He has traveled various other
planes/dimensions/realities/[etc.].

Is you character a warrior a wizard
or something else?

Mostly a sorceror,
but also a very skilled swordsman.

Most of the time, he uses a "shadow-blade"
(a black katana) that he can summon to him at will.
This blade drains souls/energy/strength/whatever.
The most obvious example of this is, of course,
Stormbringer (from Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone).
But this was also a common theme in a series
of fantasy stories about a band of necromancers,
printed in the old days of pulp fiction
(I don't recall the author, though).

Other times, he will use an enchanted greatsword
(one of those ubiquitous chrome-plated big swords).

Is your character slightly (or otherwise) creepy?

Oh, *absolutely* YES!!  >:-D

Basically, think of an evil criminal mastermind
with tremendous magical powers.

He specializes in Necromancy ("death magics")
and Demonology (calling up evil, nasty critters
from nether-places not-quite-named "Heck"),
and he travels (traveled?)
to other planes extensively.

He has/is/will be forming a cabal
of liches [1] and other evil sorcerors.
He also has an extensive army
of "ninja demons" [2], zombies/ghouls [3],
spirit warriors (aka "sword wraiths"?) [4],
and other sundry critters.

Oh, and his name?...
He goes by the name Nethozhen ("neth-THO-zhen") [5].

Thanks!
Franklin

[1] -- This is one reason that I've been posting
DAT files and images for Liches.

[2] -- In a response I posted on another thread,
one dealing with uses of the red ninjas,
I posted how to make these: one red ninja,
one Darth Maul head, and two Black hands.

[3] -- Take a Jar-Jar Binks torso,
use a Mummy head, replace the arms with Grey arms,
use Dark Grey hands (most often, from the $3
construction guy set), a black hairpiece,
and brown legs.

[4] -- Take a Grey torso with Grey arms
and Dark Grey hands (as above),
slip on a Samurai armor,
held in place by a Darth Vader head
[can get this as cheap as $4
if you're willing to disassemble a keychain],
wearing a Dark Grey flaring/nasal helm.
Add a 1x2 plate and a 1x1 round brick in Grey,
and a 2x2 radar dish in Dark Grey
for the lower half of the body
to simulate the "cloud"/"spectral" form
of this critter.

[5] -- The "zh" sounds like the "s" in "treasure".

(...) Hmmmm... sounds like your Shadow-Blade and my Black Blade may have been created by the same wizard! I suppose that it is a common theme for black swords. (URL) (25 years ago, 21-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)
