Re: Lattice windows revisited and modified (wasRe: lattice windows)

(...) Great ideas! But I just want to point something out for making it "realistic". That is ALL great churches and cathedrals with stained glass do not show the glass color on the outside. What that means is from the inside one sees lots of color, (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Re: ToPleSs : the Art of building between the studs

(...) That is a great resource. I'll have to download and read through all of those. Classic-castle.com does have a "how-to" page: (URL) aren't as nicely packed into PDF format (though that is a thought). We're always looking for great articles to (...)   Don't Miss the Costume Ball at NWBrickCon™ 2004

The Ballroom is ready! Is your Minifig on its way? There is just one week left to be reasonably sure your figure will arrive in time. If you aren't able to come to NWBrickCon™ 2004 in person, be sure to send your Minifigure NOW! Send it to: The (...)   Re: Yeah, I got on the vignette bandwagon...

(...) Sweet dude! I don't know about others who may or may not have read much Chekov or other Russian greats, but I think the Cold Winter's Knight rocks! I like that one better than the duck, and I like ducks! Great posture with the knight, he (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Yeah, I got on the vignette bandwagon...

(...) The mill is very nice, especially the duck. In the second one, you did a good job with the knight's posture conveying a sense of the cold winter wind - but a snow-covered landscape is pretty much inherently boring. Keep it up! Marc Nelson Jr. (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Yeah, I got on the vignette bandwagon...

...and promptly fell off. Not exactly the most stellar of MOCs, but I guess everyone must start somewhere.   Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Jojo discovered them a few years ago (URL) the link to the picture is dead) Here's a pic (URL) one on the right is more rare. (...) My mistake, sort of. I had just been looking at the back of the wall, under the railing. Except for that one (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and especially that you liked the brick trees: I was, and am, very unsure of them. On one hand I like the "fullness" of them, but on the other I think they might be a bit too solid and blocky. Thanks again, (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Thanks Keith, I've thought about joining and posting on LUGNET for a while now, but never really got serious about it. Now I'm glad I have. Space is in the works next! - If you want a pic or two email me sometime. :-) John. (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Thanks! The gate was built over most of the summer, on and off. I put in lots of time, but it was spread in short bursts over the course of a couple months. It also involved quite a bit of waiting for the figures. (...) While making the (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  End of the Hunt

Hey All, I worked something up showing the end of BUB. Here are the deeplinks: (URL) (fuzzy Sad ) (URL) after moderation: (URL) you missed the thread that started this, see "Dragonsbane Hunt" Thanks! Josh PS. I also made another scene with this (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Thanks! I believe scenery is half the MOC! I agree that far too many castles "come right up out of the grass," and wanted to do something different. About the sizing of the wall: I tried to make it not overly huge, but a bit more realistically (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Thanks! It would indeed be too expensive to make a huge MOC with this design: Both the grey 2x2x3 slopes and the grey 1x2 tiles are fairly expensive parts in large quantities. (...)   Re: lattice windows

Hi Daan, (...) Well, it's mine :) (URL) used this technique for my Tonquedec castle. (...) I really like those windows. I tried also to use the 8x8 plate, but I didn't like the 2x2 square in the middle. You find a very good way to mask it. I hope (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Hello James Stacey, thanks for passing on the name of Kev Hall. I will try to find out if he is indeed 'my man'. If so, his name comes in the "readwindowslattice.txt". Thanks for the compliments. Daan Bargerbos ----- Original Message ----- From: (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: lattice windows

Hi Marc, thanks for the compliments (now there is even a 'bargerboswindow'...) I like your church very much. You've got to use a lot of brown tiles there. But it really gives a 'wooden' touch to it all. Also the cross on the tower is a nice touch. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Snippage (...) Snippage (...) Snippage (...) Holy Windows Batman!!! I really like the two example above. Very nice hack. I find LEGO has such a limited selection of windows. I'll definitely add these to my tool box. THanks for posting. Mike (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)
