Re: New Vignettes - Princess Bride and the Matrix

(...) Wow, thanks for all those sources. Looking at the original Japanese inspiration, would it be too uncouth to refer to vignettes as the haiku of LEGO building? I really dig the simplicity of the building style, and absolutely how much (...) (20 years ago, 13-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Vignettes - Princess Bride and the Matrix

(...) Hey Brian, I'm not sure where the idea originated (don't say SW Storytellers or violence may ensue ;) ), but a recent spate of these on Classic-Castle.com was inspired by noticing similar creations by three Japanese builders: Makoto: (URL) (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Vignettes - Princess Bride and the Matrix

Bravo Lenyu!, you've really nailed this vignette-form. I think the Matrix scene is my favorite because of the dynamic action, but the library is a close second. Why the short hair though, don't tell me you cut your flowing fabio-style locks? I look (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: New Vignettes - Princess Bride and the Matrix

Lenny, I love how easily identified these are. I think that's a testament to how well you captured the scene in each one. Somewhat inspiring for me to try some myself. Where did the vignette, 6x6 concept get born from? Any other good sources for (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Hey Lenny, these are great! (URL) I love the bed design. Did you paint over a pirate babe torso?!?!? One critique--this is cheating a bit on the 6x6 footprint.   Re: Lego 1590 Ghostly Hideout? What does it look like?

(...) Someone already helped you out with a picture and some information, but I think this might help too. I got this set a long time ago when it first came out. It came in a value pack. I believe it was 3 small sets. Here's the combo pack: (URL) (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Dragonsbane hunt

Thanks for the nice comments. I personally like BUB, but I have gotten a negative comment or two about him. Glad you like him. I plan to use him elsewhere as the mood strikes me. His parts aren't that useful for anything else, so there is no danger (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Dragonsbane hunt

(...) Josh, I think that your BUB is really neat. I was wondering how else to use that head piece. I also think the horns work well, as using sand green ones probably would not be as effective. Thanks for sharing. - ªþ§aada (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

John, I love both of these creations. Having worked on a similiar gate myself, I could see how much time must have gone into building it. I really liked that you had your walls built on a rocky elevation and not just on baseplates. While they would (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

Hey John, Way to go! These are quite good. That wall is massive. I am a big fan of scenery and yours is good. The trees are well done and the stone foundation of your walls are a nice touch. Most people don't include that. So many walls come right (...) (20 years ago, 10-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Lego 1590 Ghostly Hideout? What does it look like?

Hi all! Just as the subject says, I'm curious as to what this set looks like. Does any one have an idea? Is this a rare set? Promotional? Brendan Duck360198@aol.com (20 years ago, 9-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) I like it. Some elements---particularly the use of 2x2x3 slopes and the windows---add a great deal of visual interest to what could otherwise be boring walls. Unfortunately, they also make it prohibitivly expensive to make a whole castle/town. (...) (20 years ago, 9-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)
