  Brick Built Beasts volume 1

Hi all, I have compiled an article with links to animal MOCs at approximately minifig scale by a large number of AFOLS, which can be found on Classic-Castle.com's how-to page: (URL) was compiled initially to help add details to castle layouts, but (...)   Re: Northern border outpost

Hey, I really like the landscaping. I'll pay my highest compliment and say it makes me think of Takeshi Itou ((URL) I especially like the depth of that gorge and the very natural feel to the landscape. The structure itself is a bit plain, but (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC:Sword Tower

(...) Actually, this tower started as an experiment for a larger castle I'm working on. I hadn't really thought about doing more CCC stuff with the idea. Because I don't have a lot of time right now, maybe I should think more about that since those (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

(...) but its massive size puts this idea to rest. There is one very bad thing (...) There was a thread on Classic Castle about this creation. (URL) fosterbengoshi posted a few comments. Apparently he built it for his two daughters. He obviously has (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Castle wall idea - using 3 x 3 x 6 Corners

Hi Jeff, I like this. It is huge and seems to fit together. I like the contrast between the dark grey walls and light grey towers. The "wavy" walls give it an interesting effect. In response to what these other people have been saying about how (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC:Sword Tower

Now that is a cool tower. I would love to see the rest of the fortress. Turning the grey disk pieces upside down for the roof was excellent! Good job. Josh (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: AWESOME 5' fantasy castle on Brickshelf

(...) Well there's someone with that username on Bricklink, (URL) you could try contacting them there. With a username like that it's highly likely they're the same person :) ROSCO (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

AWESOME 5' fantasy castle on Brickshelf

I haven't seen anyone claim this incredible structure in the Castle newsgroup yet, so I thought I'd share the link to the folder for whoever it is that built it. (URL) 5' tall castle> This is one of the tallest and best built castles I've ever seen. (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Fade to gray: Requiem for the old gray

(...) Indeed. They're unmistakably saying, "Look how sad and ugly old grey looks, and none of the pieces match anyway because they yellow with time." --SteveR (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.color, FTX)

  Re: MOC:Sword Tower

Interesting concept. The tower it's self looks nice and I like the part used for the roof. (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Northern border outpost

(...) Looks great. The snow covering everything gives it a very chilly feel. The outpost itself looks imposing enough to withstand most any assult, barring seige equipment. The stream flowing below is a nice touch. I'm not too sure about the roof on (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Northern border outpost

(...) Nifty. It has a very blocky look, like it could withstand determined assault with savvy defenders manning the slits and walltops. Photographing it with a wintry background is quite effective as well. Thanks for sharing! (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Northern border outpost

The King told them they would have their share of fortune, women and adventure... But they got the bitter cold of the northern border. And the occasional raid from troops of the Northern Kingdom: (URL) first castle creation since I was a kid. (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle wall idea - using 3 x 3 x 6 Corners

(...) I wonder if it would be harder to get a ladder up to a wavy wall, though. (...) In fact, it doesn't. That principle only holds true if the oblique angle tends to deflect shot into open air. If it deflects shot into a pocket point of the (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Defending. The point of projecting towers is so the defenders can sweep the fronts of the walls with projectile fire. With a wavy front, an attacker standing between two of the waves would be hard(er) to hit, because the wall itself would be (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle wall idea - using 3 x 3 x 6 Corners

(...) The question is: What do you want? A castle for your son to play with? Well, don't bother. For a kid, it is a very nice building. If you want to build a more real looking castle, the only way is to look for some pictures or drawings of real (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle wall idea - using 3 x 3 x 6 Corners

(...) Thanks for the feedback. Military problems in defending or attacking? (...) I agree about the slopes at the bottom... but I didn't want a moat. I'll have to play with them more to see what I can come up with. Do you think both towers are too (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

(...) military problems with a wall built that way) but it looks strong and imposing. I don't like the slopes at the bottom, though; I think it would be better to have the walls go right down into a wet moat. And the towers don't live up to their (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Castle wall idea - using 3 x 3 x 6 Corners

I'm not normally a castle person, but my son asked me to build a castle. So I thought I'd start with the outer walls (not sure what they are properly called). I seemed to have a large number of part #2345s on hand in dark grey (ok... old dark grey) (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.castle)
