Re: Excellent rendering with MegaPov 0.7 (long post)

I've downloaded Megapov and plugged in the extra code but all I get is a black image. For that matter, I get a black image for every file I run that has MegaPov enabled. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. -Orion (22 years ago, 14-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Hi Anders - I'm using this code, with amazing results!! I've tweaked the assumed_gamma and reflection values to get a good LEGO look. One thing I'm still puzzled at is how to get the fuzzy shadow underneath objects? I'm not a POV guru... hope (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Thanks! (...) Well, I rendered a model by James Mathis (ICE train) with radiosity and camera-blur and Mega-Pov + POV-Ray 3.1 was SEVEN TIMES FASTER than POV-Ray 3.5! I also liked the overal picture rendered by MegaPov better, a bit softer if (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Excellent rendering with MegaPov 1.0 !!!

Hi all, Forget my last post about MegaPov 0.7, yesterday MegaPov 1.0 was announced (see: (URL) )! And it is compatible with POV-Ray 3.5. Hopefully it is still as fast as version 0.7. Jeroen (22 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) That is a rendering? Wow. I think the slightly out of focus effect, combined with the "area lights" makes the rendering look very credible. If it's done with (Mega)POV-Ray, I bet the rendering was pretty CPU intensive... Fredrik (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Adding a focal length won't make a POV rendering look that good, though. The reason it looks so good is because the renderer that rendered it appears to be very very good. Fantastic renderings ! Both ! The Brazil 3D-Studio and the POV-Ray. Now the question is: how can we "normal" users (without Silicon graphic equipment ;-) ) make SO NICE renderings ?! For example I'm using ML-Cad, L3PAO, LGEO parts library and (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)
