(...) I would have tried to add a blu sky with cloud textures. That would probably make the reflective surface of the crome parts look more interesting. It may increase the rendering time even more, though. Fredrik (22 years ago, 18-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Big Blue Space Ship

Hi! I have rendered my Big Blue Space Ship using Jeroen's inc files. It took 5 and a half hours but the result is nice, I think... Here it is: (URL) (143 kb) LMKWYT! Jaco (22 years ago, 17-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.space)

(...) Great render. Behind the R2 unit (after the tapering cuve piece), are those 2x3 (or2x4)wedge pieces on backwards? The chrome may be a tad too 'white'. Looks great tho' Jeff (22 years ago, 16-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  10026 Naboo Fighter SE Render

I rendered a picture of the 10026 using the cust_inc files with full radiosity. Since it took 27 hours to finish on my P3 500, I'm going to share the picture so that my wait wasn't wasted on just me. This one was rendered in 17 hr using the old (...) (22 years ago, 15-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Are the illustrations for the modeler's book series created with Ldraw compatible software?

(...) Thanks, Jaco. What I meant is "what is a gooved tile?" When I look them up, they look like regular tiles. Where there LGEO grooved tiles in 1999? (22 years ago, 14-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  .INC files for radiosity updated

Hi all, I updated the radiosity files today. The sysem is somewhat simpler: the files are called radio_0.inc (no radiosity), radio_1.inc (simple radiosity), radio_2.inc (medium quality) and radio_3.inc (high quality). There are also c-versions which (...) (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Are the illustrations for the modeler's book series created with Ldraw compatible software?

(...) I don't think they used LDraw -- unless LGEO has textures mapped on sloped parts. Also, the tiles are grooved, LDraw's tiles weren't grooved in 1999. Steve (22 years ago, 13-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Are the illustrations for the modeler's book series created with Ldraw compatible software?

I must say that now I have the book in hand, the images are deffinately rendered. You can, like you said, cleary make that out from the shadows. I doubt though the used LDraw, for the book I have (Animals) dates back to 1999. One other possibility (...) (22 years ago, 12-Feb-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)
